Transportation to hotel

We are 8 people, including two children that reguire carseats.

Would it be best to arrange transportation from Liberia airport to playa Potrero before? Or will there be some sorta of van taxi at the airport?

I regularly use the services of XPlore Costa Rica - Denise has an office in Tamarindo, and handles our transfers for our guests in Nosara on a regular basis. On time, professional, bilingual, new equipment - and you can ask for carseats with no problem..... They have a website or you can find them on FaceBook - very quick to respond.

XPlore Costa Rica is great -- and here's another: www.ecotranscostarica.com

They kind of specialize in transportation in the Guanacaste area and have professional and experienced, English-speaking drivers and a good reputation.

Do plan on making your arrangements ahead of time so that your driver can bring the right size vehicle for your group. Someone will be waiting for you and holding up a sign with your name on it.

And yes, by law, they will provide your car seats as needed.

Go ahead and book transportation. We just got back and used transportation@liberiacostaricainfo.com. Javier picked us up at the airport, then took us up to our first destination in Rincon. 2 days later he picked us up again and took us to the Bahia Del Sol in Playa Potrero. He then came and got us to take us back to the airport. Javier was very friendly and knowledgable about his country, and the price was the best we found. It's definitely the way to go, and relieves any stress of how you're getting where you're going. Their van seats 6 I believe, but they may have a larger van.

I know the 3 that recommended above.

And the Rincon de la Vieja option is a very good one since is the closest volcano to the beach, plus it is active.
