Good old fashioned mold madgeBedfordshire.

Only way is to air the house and leave wardrobes open but f you close up for 6 months then not possible.

Perhaps you could get someone to look after your house for you to prevent this happening

I have just fitted a multiroom extraction system in the loft. This has ducts going to each bedroom and the kitchen (I am in a bungalow) and removes air to the outside. I intend to leave it on for the 6 months I am back in UK. Hopefully it will make a difference.

Whatever you do, don't leave things in a sealed shipping container, we did last year and ruined lots of things, even the car engine was mouldy!!!

Hi Fj, hopefully not. I have it protected by an electrical spike filter and it is a good quality one from UK.

Worth a try anyhow.

Was told to leave trays of salt everywhere and when we returned they was rock hard with all the moisture they had absorbed.

Still lost a Canon digital camera and playstation2

to the dreaded mould last year.

I was going to suggest the same thing - surely these vaccum bags would prevent the musty smells and be easy to store? The tv adverts all say you can put bedding and pillows in as well. Must say, it's fascinating learning about the practicalities of living over there

All our clothes get folded and put in a wardrobe and never had a problem with either mold or musty smells. Don't do anything special??

kerr that is probably because you have staff there who will open widows and air the place whilst you are not there. When i travel in the summer my staff are here all the time to open windows feed animals etc and it is fine like yours.

xx
