Few hours in Phuket Town

We would be in Phuket town for one night in December - enroute to Koh Phra Thong - from roughly 2 pm in the afternoon. Our on-going flight is early next morning. Am looking for suggestions for things to do (not snorkelling or shopping) such as boat rides etc that start close to phuket town. Please mention tour operators with contact info. Thanx

Hi VanaG9

I think most of the boat tours leave in the morning, so you may be out of luck there. You could look into booking a driver to take you around the island to all the major spots.

Yes, that is what is actually happening. Was wondering if there is an operator who will do only boat rides from late afternoon ....

Have you booked to stay in Phuket Town?

It gets dark just after 6pm. By the time you clear imm and get a taxi, settle in a hotel, its going to be 4pm. IMO no chance of a boat trip.

I suggest stay in Patong and take in the sights.

PHuket town has lots of offere IMO.

I would take a walk through the "old town" which is smack in the middle of town and consists of the 4 city blocks south of the clock tower (not the clock tower cricle but just south of the bus station)

There are lots of interesting shops selling old things, new things, good food, with much variety.

Then I would (if you like to walk) head down towards Sapan Hin on the east side of town.

You could take a tuk tuk but if you can get there before dark, there are lots of people flying kites, and food vendors all over the infield parking lot.

There is lots down there and often there are festivals in the area.

If you have access to rides, go up Rang Hill to the great park up there.

Ok, these are all daytime things to do.

At night, you have lots of Thai nightclubs around.

One of the best places to check out is Soi Romanee with it's old and artsy clubs and shops.

If you like Jazz, check out Music Matter near Robinson.

There is a small place named Bohemia or something like that near Mikes that is interesting.

Lots to see, so little time.
