getting around from the dewa

Hi we are thinking of booking a week at the Dewa we like the idea of the nice resort but want to explore patong and possibly karon we hear the hotel provides some transport not sure how often this is but wondering about the prices and distances to both of these as we want to see both sides of what phuket can offer thanks

We enjoyed 4 nights at the Dewa in February. We had our own car so can't help with info on hotel shuttle. There are taxis parked just outside if you want to make your own arrangements. Depending on the traffic and the major roadworks en route it will take you about 45 minutes to an hour to get to Patong, Karon 15 minutes further, Kata a bit more.

You will certainly see both sides of Phuket between the small and lovely traditional resort of Nai Yang with its beautiful beach, crystal clear water and dining on the beach, feet in the sand style, and the crowded Patong with packed beach and full on night life. Karon is not quite as full on but is getting there. Just further on Kata is a nicer place to visit.

As Arandora suggests on our visit there were local Taxis usually parked up by close by throughout the day but the Hotels courtesy bus ran to Phuket pretty much each day.

We took it to Patong one day, took about an hour if I recall - it dropped off at the Central Festival shopping centre first, followed by Patong near the Jungceylon shopping centre and then went on to Phuket town.

Dropped us off about 11:00'ish then collected us about 17:00 or so and came straight back to the Dewa.
