gluten free kata beach

Hi

My partner cannot eat gluten. Just wondering if anyone has some recommendations of accommodating restaurants and whether local restaurants take notice of not wheat!

Thanks

You should be fine. Thai cookery doesn't use wheat as a rule. I guess some of the noodles might be made with flour but it isn't generally used as a thickening agent like we do in the west.

You probably want to check if soy sauce is being used as it has gluten.

Yes. Soy and Oyster sauce are the trouble makers now for Celiacs in Thailand. It is really common now in Thai restaurants in almost all their dishes, and there is a lot of cross-contamination as they often use the same pans that contained the soy sauce from another dish. Try to avoid the fried food, and go for steamed food if possible.

Hi,

My GF can't eat gluten either, and we normally print out a few of these when we travel..
