Having stayed in Laganas a few years ago, I was dreading the thought of returning to a village nearby. Last time I went it was very commercialised, and not a nice place at all.
However, I was very satisfied with my latest visit. Laganas has been cleaned up quite a lot, and now is a lively but more traditional place than it was. It has lots of souvenir shops, selling interesting, beautiful ornaments, and the beach is lovely. The restaurants are more taverna-like than before, and offer good quality food for affordable prices.
I was very satisfied with Lithakia. It is a beautiful village with lovely good quality tavernas by the beach. Stunning scenery too.
The villa is only a short walk from the tavernas, and if you don't find what you want in Lithakia (which wasn't a problem for us - a family of 6), then there are more tavernas down the road.
Our typical day would be to laze around the pool in the morning, visit Keri Lake (a beautiful resort down the road) at lunchtime, and go to the taverna in the evening. It was perfect.
And the villa was incredible. Beautiful, traditional and the pool was luxurious.
10/10 for our holiday, and for this beautiful island!
Now, could someone tell me how I can book again!?
