In excellent position near beach, supermarket and bus stop, Troulos is good base on island for beaches and restaurants, only problem is busy evening buses to town. Go in opposite direction first if buses don`t stop. Best rooms at M&Y away from pool quieter but basic. I`m sure you`ll have a great holiday. Check out other threads for eating out and go and see Lisa at the Frog bar.

Thankyou for your info.

Starting to look forward to it now.

This is the smallest Greek island we have been to so should be easy to get around and see most things on the island.

We stayed at the Maria Yiannis in June this year. We loved it. We would get up in the morning and walk to the beach, literally across the road and down the lane. We would walk on the the beach then call in at the supermarket on the way back and have a leisurely breakfast on our apartment terrace (No 4) before enjoying our day on the lovely island of Skiathos. The traffic from the road can be heard when sitting by the pool but you soon get used to it. Manos runs the bar and looks after the pool and gives you a very warm welcome when you arrive.

This was our second time to Skiathos and enjoyed it just as much. The bus service is great and will not be too busy when you are there in September. Skiathos town is lovely both during the day and in the evening. Plenty of bars and restaurants. I'm sure you will enjoy your holiday.

Hi about 5 weeks to go.

Any comments about places to eat and drink would be greatly

Also has the economic situation had that much effect as regards to prices

and the number of visitors

Can't go wrong when eating out, can't wait to be back next week! No great increase in prices when my parents were there a few weeks ago.
