Alykanas Supermarkets? Lidl at the airport, worth a shop?

Hi there, I'm always up for a savvy shop around, this is my first self catering trip to Alykanas on a shoestring budget, so I was wondering about the lidl...

Price wise, would it be worth getting a few basics there when we land? In Fuerteventura we were lucky & found loads of the cheap Hyperdino supermarkets but Alykanas is all a bit unknown!

All tips would be very welcome :-)

Thanks for your time!

You can get everything you need at Lidl and prices are as good as anywhere. You don't say what day you arrive but supermarkets in Greece are closed on Sundays although you can always find a local shop that's open.

Thank you for your reply.. We do indeed arrive on a Sunday so really appreciate the intercept there! I'm hoping there's some cheap supermarkets near Dannys then! Cheers

Market Express one of a chain of supermarkets found on the island is very well stocked with an excellent deli counter. They sell virtually everything for holidaymaker needs as well as for locals and can be found at the other end of the village from Danny's hotel. You turn left from Danny's up onto the main village road where you then turn right. Simply follow the road around the bend passing by the main group of shops, bars, and restaurants to find Market Express set back off the road on the opposite side it's about a 10 minute walk away, totally flat as well. Other supermarkets you will pass by en-route include the Maxi and Letsos supermarkets with the latter holding more stocks. Danny's itself has a supermarket on site and all will be open on Sundays until late at night as well as the others mentioned. The main village road also has a very good fresh fruit shop as well as a bakery which is just before the Market Express, again it's set back off the road and has a tinted window frontage. It's open from around 4 a.m. When the first bakes of the day emerge from the ovens.

Mondeo1 you are an absolute gem... Thank you for your help, we're blown away by how helpful you've been with all that info!? It is very much appreciated :-)

It's always a bit nerve wracking travelling on a budget as it's easy to pay over the odds if you don't know where to go, so thanks again! Have a lovely evening
