Personally, I would buy before you travel, as whilst these leather shops make some great things, they are not cheap.

DC if you are talking about Mark Bootery where you directed me to, then I highly recommend.

I took two pairs of very well loved leather sandals to him and he pretty much re made them from scratch.

he speaks fairly good English and was very particular in making sure they were what I wanted and I went back for two fittings.

Two pairs cost me 500 baht and to buy new at home they cost 2350 baht each. So cheap!!

I will wear them to bits for a year and get the same next year.

thanks DC for pointing me to the right place.

Now that is more like the prices I would look to pay ThaiM!

I looked at the directions on Google and sort of could see where it was. I could only find it as I sort of know Chaweng.

Any address or almost idiots guide to finding the place??

thanks chaps!

Hi

I have his card but there is no actual address on it, but a rough map and ph numbers.

If you pm me I will scan his business card and send.

And a big whoops,I just checked my prices and it was 500 baht deposit and 500 on completion but so what still cheap!

it really pays to go with a clear idea for him of what you want. He can copy well but not sure about coming up with what you imagine. Take a photo or old shoes etc.

Good luck

Hi,

I'm also interested in Mark Bootery and "made to measure" sandles.

Could you also please send me a copy of the business card also?

Thanks,

Terry
