Honey Cottages

Has anyone stayed in the Samui Honey Cottages? There are 4 of us wanting to book a stay at the Honey Cottages (2 couples). Are they in a nice part of town within easy reach of restaurants & shops, we are hoping to go in April & were also warned of mosquitoes. Also the boys are interestered in water sports & fishing activities while us girls maybe a couple of beauty treatments

I haven't stayed there, but usually stay very nearby at the Q-Signature as we have a timeshare there. We had lunch at the restaurant on the beach once, Ok, but there is much better to be had.

Samui Honey Cottages are right on Choeng Mon beach, a very nice spot, one of the best beaches on the island, on the flat so maybe more standing water for mosquitoes. It's off the Choeng Mon village road down the same side road as Q-Signature, but seems to be a dirt track the last stretch. It is also right next to the much larger Imperial Boathouse resort. Have a look on Google Earth, it will show you a good view of the area.

Choeng Mon is a relatively quiet, although the whole beach has resorts next to each other, some old, some newer, but there are plenty of restaurants and enough shops for basics in the village, including massage and beauty treatments. It's only about 10 minutes by taxi to Chaweng, maybe a little more to Bophut.

Hi

As says above the honey cottage is on the tip end of Cheongmon beach very quiet part. We had dinner there one night, their own restaurant every good (Jan peak season) we left around 9pm and the whole beach were dark and very quiet. Only a few open for restaurant open for business. The beach out the front flat with white soft sand. One thing I noticed they didn't seems to provides guest with beach chairs or umbrella like any others beach resorts in the area. There are massage hut very where as well as the restaurant on the beach or you can go up to the main road for more options. Cheongmon beach is only 10-15 mins taxi rides to chaweng and bophut ( fisherman village).

Cheers,

hi guys

samui honey cottages are [as above ] in choeng mon

choeng mon isnt so big so everything is within walking distance

April should be very hot

mosquito are every where on samui as well as most other tropical parts of the world ,so nothing new there

use some repellent, dont use perfume ,cover up around dawn and dusk ,

if you ask the people at Crystal restaurant [just along the beach]about fishing ,they may be able to help and there are watersports activities next door to them also

beauty treatment you could try eranda herbal spa [few kms ]down the road towards chaweng or pick up a copy of the spa guide [should be at the airport ] or the hotel might have some

cheers

We stayed there a couple of years ago for three weeks and had a lovely time. Our Bungalow (number 23 I think) was about 30 feet from the beach and breakfast was served at the Honey Restaurant a couple of hundred yards away on the beach.

I would say the hotel amenities are 3 star (so don't expect swish rooms as in 5 star resorts) however, the rooms were perfectly adequate and cleaned thoroughly every day.

If you have a look at this link for the restaurant http://www.honeyseafood.com/ and scroll down the page you will see a video of the Fishing Boat Trip you can book with them.

April is good month to visit and the beach is brilliant with only about 4 or 5 jetskis to hire and I have never heard of any scams on this beach (been 5 times to ChoengMon)

Your "boys" are just going to love the fishing at "Top-Cats" (if you can find it).

Some of the biggest fish in Thailand are stocked in such a small lake.
