going there after two months and I am wondering what kind of system they have in tipping? Meaning the girls cleaning our room, at the restaurant, at the bar and so on..

1. Re: Tipping at Zazen

Zazen charge service (from memory 10%) on all food / drinks / spa etc in common with most upmarket hotels on the island.

Tipping cleaning / turndown service is personal but there is no requirement. Personally I tip a little and often rather than a lump at the end to be certain the person doing the work gets the cash - or at least the approbation - as commonly this will be pooled with the service charge and divided among all staff.

Thanks a lot for Your answer! Do one leave the money for example on the bed or is it to be given from hand to hand?

I always leave the money on the pillow. Have never been there when I get back. And always a well cleaned room with new shampoo etc.
