"A2V: two-speed project” officially opens on March 15 at the Casa das Mudas Arts Centre, in a peculiar meeting between past and present, between the island’s idyllic and real landscapes and in which, the explanatory guidance through the display classifies “Madeira Landscape” itself as a work of art.
The Casa das Mudas Arts Centre, Calheta in association with the Department of Cultural Affairs introduce the largest retrospective exhibition with works by Max Römer, an artist who interpreted and ascribed romantic characteristics to Madeira’s traditions and landscape.
More than a hundred works by Max Römer, including paintings, prints and drawings from the Quinta das Cruzes Museum, House-Museum Frederico de Freitas and the Universe of Memories private collections, will come across with unpublished works from nine artists, Madeiran and foreign, who with a “two-speed project" will reveal their interpretations on the contemporary landscape of Madeira..."
