Dear Sweden specialists,
I have posted this already in the general Sweden forum and I would be very happy for some feedback. Thank you!
I am travelling to Sweden with a friend for 2 weeks in July / August and would like to get some general advice on my itinerary (first draft ;) We will be renting a car for the most part of the trip and want to do a road trip with time for activities like walking / hiking and lots of photo opportunities. I don´t mind driving 300-400km every other day or so. For me it´s more about seeing places and landscapes than just sitting by a lake or ocean all day doing nothing... :)
I would appreciate some general feedback whether you think my plan is feasible or too rushed.
Jul 20: Arriving late in Stockholm
Jul 21 + 22: Sightseeing Stockholm
Jul 23: Driving Stockholm to Vimmerby
Jul 24: Sightseeing in Vimmerby (Astrid Lindgren, etc)
Jul 25: Vimmerby to Goteborg. Sightseeing on the way
Jul 26: Some sightseeing in Goteborg and drive to Bohuslan Coast.
Jul 27 + 28: 2 days on the B. coast (not sure yet where)
Jul 29: Drive from B. coast to Vänern Lake (not sure yet where exactly)
Jul 30: Day in Vänern Lake area
Jul 31: Drive from Vänern Lake to Siljan Lake
Aug 1: Day in Siljan Lake area
Aug 2: Drive back to Stockholm
Aug 3: Flight home
Is Siljan Lake really worth the trip? I didn´t have it on my original plan but have read some forum posts mentioning it being the "real" Sweden. How is Vänern Lake? Could this part be skipped?
I appreciate any feedback. Thank you very much!
