Bus from Chambery


Has anyone taken the Altibus from Chambery airport to Les Arcs [Villards] if so was it easy and or would you suggest an alternative transfer? looking at traveling 19th March 2011.

I have not taken it, but travelling by bus (actually a coach) is probably the best idea if you are a small group on a budget. If in a larger group, you might want to consider a private car transfer.

For comparison, an alternative is to catch a taxi from Chambéry airport to the Chambéry rail station for the train to BSM. The taxi will take 15/20 mins and train journey about 2 hours. Taxi cost = ~35 euros, train prices at www.voyages-sncf.com or www.raileurope.co.uk (probably about ~30 euros each). Note: the train would only get you as far as Bourg Saint Maurice - you would need to take another taxi (~50 euros), or bus, or funicular up to Villiards.
