Well appointed lodge but watch that electricity bill !

I read with interest (and agree with) the comments from last guests re high electricity bill !

We stayed in April and were advised on arrival that the"electricity in the area is very expensive" Huh? They had SET their metering HIGH! We expected a meter from which to take readings, in the lodge, but none! Beware - your bill runs from midnight on the day of last guests' departure / your arrival later in the day! ie you are paying for all morning usage of previous guests ( up to 8 in our lodge) By our day of departure we were down to two of us. You are also paying for all hot water and power used by the cleaning staff on changeover day!

We too were being very careful - and feeling cold, especially in the basement bedrooms. Being presented with high bill on departure day took the pleasure out of the holiday as we left.

If you research before booking and find there is a swimming pool on site, again take note: it is not available for lodge guests' use, only for hotel guests! There are no leisure facilitiesat all on site for lodge dwellers!

The lodges are lovely - even ours which is due for a refurb this year. A real bonus was the sun conservatory with wonderful views over the loch.

Hi Oban

welcome to TA. Your post would have been interesting had you named the accommodation. I'm guessing you were responding to either another post or to a review on this site.

Can you post again with the details, and also place a review in the Review section?

The advantage of doing a review as opposed to a post int the forum is that the former will remain for others to see. This post will eventually drop down the page and be lost.

To place a review, go to an existing review of the property. Near the bottom of the page you'll see a green button which says "Write a review".

(It was maybe this place?
