Weding in Calella De Palafrugell

Hi

I am hoping to plan my wedding in Calella de Palafrugell next year after my partner and I fell in love with the place a while ago. I wondered if anyone coudl suggest possible venues for the wedding? Or knows about non catholic churches in the area?

I also wanted to ask if anyone can suggest a good place that could seat 50 for a tapas style reception meal.

Many thanks

This is the same platform (same company) running http://www.weddingspot.co.uk/ but for Spain... it's obviously not in English -but you can use Google Translate-, maybe it can help you: bodas.net/bodas/girona/calella-de-palafrugell

CHURCHES: I am afraid all you're going to find will most likely be Catholic as Calella de Palafrugell is not big enough to have a 'demand' for anything else and, after all, Catalonia is majoritarily Catholic country. Still, you might want to check with the city council: http://www.palafrugell.cat/ or if you have trouble getting a proper response in English try the tourism office: http://en.visitpalafrugell.cat/ But, excuse my ignorance on this issue, can't you marry in any Christian church providing you're Christian regardless whether they are Catholic, Presbiterian or whatever?? In case you might need it, the current priest at the parish of Calella de Palafrugell is Mn. Felip Hereu (feliphereu@gmail.com, tel +34 972300735) and the vicar is Mn. Pere Artigas (pireverter@yahoo.es, Tel. +34 608654284). Note this data is publicly available at http://www.bisbatgirona.cat/bisbat.php hence I'm simply re-publishing.

RESTAURANTS that host weddings but not necessarely "in" Calella de Palafrugell, some are close by:

caproig.com/en/…233-weddings-en.html

www.santroc.com/en/events/celebrate-with-us/

http://www.salagran.com/

www.hotelgarbi.com/convencions.php?idm=3

http://www.hterramar.com/eng/

http://en.masfalet.com/

PHOTOGRAPHERS:

http://fotografo-bodas.net/

tonisantiso.com/blog/…

still note that you can search for a photographer elsewhere in bigger cities (ie. in nearby Girona, in Figueres or even in Barcelona, where you'll find more choice and being in a more competitive environment perhaps better prices too) as many will be delighted to serve your wedding in Calella de Palafrugell.

and if you have to take a bunch of people up and down you'll probably need transportation, don't you?. Try http://maypebus.com/?lang=en , yes this one is in Palafrugell, but again shop around same than for the photographers you might find more convenient services and prices.

IMPORTANT: note I am only posting all this for informative purposes. I can't vouch for any of the above, sorry :(

Btw, I'm sure you know but "Calella de Palafrugell" is a town belonging to the municipality of Palafrugell not to be confused with "Calella", another town also in the coast but to the south, and much closer to Barcelona.

Enjoy... and congrats on the coming event ;)

Hi Laura,

I've replied to your pm.

If you are not catholic you cant get married in Spain, unless you can prove residency for something like 3 months. We had a registry office ceremony in the uk - just us and witnesses, then had our big ceremony in spain, using a humanist minister. Its not a legally binding ceremony, but we view it as the day we got married as we were surrounded by our friends and family. I have sent you some contact details. I'll have a look for a list of all our vendors and get back to you!

Thanks Sus1979 for the info... it is always good to learn something new! As I said I am totally unfamiliar with religious weddings :))

My mate got married to a Spanish girl in the medieval church in Pals which was very nice. How about the old chapel behind the lighthouse in Llafranc?
