Restaurant in Royston.

Can anybody tell me what is classed as the best restaurant in Royston please? I am planning a reunion with an old friend after 15 years and I'd like to go to the nicest place to eat in the Royston area.. Doesn't matter if it's Chinese, Indian, Thai or fine-dining English style.. Any recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks..

Pizza Palazzo, and the Old Bull Inn get the biggest write-ups!

Not sure there's much in Royston itself - but there are two posh restaurants (Sheene Mill and the Pink Geranium) in nearby Melbourn, 3 miles away, which might be worth looking at

For a reunion, Sheene Mill might be the right place for atmosphere etc

Some good places over the Essex border as well. The Axe and Compasses in Arkesden (about 6 miles away) is outstanding, and tucked away in a lovely little village in the N.Essex hills

Tickell Arms in Whittlesford (7 miles E) another possibility.

Both the Tickell Arms and Axe & Compasses are very much "gastro pubs", if not full-blown restaurants these days.
