Blood exam for foreign tourist

Where can I get a blood exam on Tokyo? One person on our group needs to undergo monthly blood exams and one will be needed on Tokyo.

It's a simple liver enzymes and cholesterol (fat level) blood exam. Is it too expensive? We only have standard travel insurance (only covers emergencies).

I could not find any information. The US Embassy has this list of hospitals but most of the hospitals do not have foreign-language web sites: …usembassy.gov/e/…tokyo

I don't know if it will be possible to have the blood test without a doctor's appointment. Can this person arrange to have the blood test ahead of schedule, before leaving for Japan?

I am not sure. I'll tell her that she has to make other arrangements.

Thanks a lot for you help. :)

As long as you will pay the price and know exactly what you need it shouldn't be challenging. Have the home doctor write out which tests are required in English, as well as condition being treated and how treated. Have a list of medications in generic name and dosage. Just about any hospital can draw blood, but many small ones send it out for processing. Big hospitals gave their own lab. Since you are not a patient be prepared for spending time to register then wait. Appointments are generally for return visits. You could ask your hotel which hospital they send guests to when necessary.

There always seemed to be plenty of doctors and clinics that served the foreign community in Tokyo. I'll assume they can do blood tests. I never needed to visit one, but here are a few I found -
