Arriving Christmas evening... food available??

We'll be landing 3:45pm on Christmas, probably getting to our hotel after 6:00pm. Will there be places open for food/drink? We're staying in Akasaka near Aoyama Itchome.

Thanks for advice and recommendations,

There will be plenty of food. Christmas is not a national holiday, and even in national holidays (with the possible exception of 1st of Jan), travelers won't be starving anywhere in Japan. Convenience stores are open 24 hrs, 365 days.

Christmas and Christmas Eve is just like any other weekend. They are not special holidays in Japan.

Christmas eve while not a national holiday in Japan (it's a Christian holiday after all) Christmas eve in Japan can be compared closer to a Valentines day with many couples spending the night going out to fancy restaurants.

It's harder to get reservations at French Restaurants on Dec 24th than Feb 14th. Also avoid Kentucky Fried chicken as they have a line up thanks to brilliant marketing that led many people in Japan top believe that eating chicken at Xmas was the normal thing in other countries.

Christmas is not a holiday. Japan is not a Christian nation.

If you would like to eat Kentucky Fired Chicken, you may be out of luck. For some reason, fried chicken is the cuisine of choice on Christmas and Christmas eve.

Hope you have a hotel, because Christmas eve fully books out with amorous couples for the big night.
