Delhi to Kasauni - Best Route and Time (incl. lunch options)

Hi, I am planning to travel by car with a family of 4 to Kasauni from Ghaziabad in Sep and would like to know which is the best route. Since we will carry breakfast, would like some suggestion on where to stop for lunch (decent non veg food). How much time it will take to reach with 1 hr lunch break?

hi george v

the route will be -

gaziabad- hapur (hapur bypass) - gadmukteshwar-gajroula-moradabad ..there are two ways from moradabad - approx 140 kms - driving time will be 3 hrs.

route 1 - moradabad-pipalsana-thakurdwara-kashipur-ramnagar-amdanda-dhangadi-kumaria-bhatrojkhan-ranikhet-majkhali-goluchinna-someshwar -kausani

route 2 - moradabad- soar-bazpur-kaladhungi-kathgodam-jeolikote-bhowali-khairna bridge-ranikhet-majkhali-goluchinna-someshwar-kausani

route 1 - takes you from outer boundaries of jim corbett NP - ranikhet is approx 170 kms from moradabad - driving time will be 5 hrs.

route 2 - takes you from beautiful kathgodam-bhowali-ranikhet route....approx 180 kms from moradabad and takes 5 hrs..

will suggest you to take bhowali-ranikhet route --road are better and better sightseeing enroute...

from ranikhet, kausani remain 60 kms- driving time will be more or less 2 hrs.

I think I will do the Corbett on the way and return via Almora. How is the road condition on Kashipur - Ranikhet section and when was the last you travelled? Thanks.

Hi george..

Last year in sep end i visited narain industrial estate of kashipur..and driven car upto bhatrojkhan to visit a NGO..roads were doable..after kumaria you can find some 13 kms road with lots of hair pin turns with scenic beauty..

From bhatrojkhan, raniikhet remains 24 kms only..you can find some very picturesque views..

If you want to do corbett then after kashipur, ramnagar is there in distance of 26 kms..the entry point for jhirna gate of corbett..other two major gates , dhikala and bhijrani will remain closed in sep.

Dear Lalbahadur Sir,

We had a great trip. We went via Corbett and came back via Almora-Nainital-Kaladungi route. Overall the road were fine. Corbett to Ranikhet and till Someshwar was quite narrow and edgy. Few kms after Bazpur is completely washed out and rattles the car as well as us.

Thanks

Hi maniche..

Bit bad patchy road in between soar bazpur-approx 4kms...bit bad patches at khurpatal road but doable...bit bad stretch near khairna bridge which is also doable...hilly area starts after kaladhungi...you need approx 11 to 12 hrs to reach kausani from delhi ..ranikhet route is best and more scenic..you will love it...

Start early say 5am to reach kausani in daylight..

If self driving- then do check engine/gear oil, check engine belt/radiator/coolant level...keep an extra can of fuel..check speny before leaving..

Drive safely and on appropriate gear/as per requirement on hilly area..

Have a nice journey
