We are spending 3 weeks in Croatia this September. We are arriving in Zagreb and have already made arrangements to travel to Plitvice Lakes and then to Istria by rental car. We are now trying to figure out how to split our remaining 12 days in the area between Zadar to Dubrovnik as well as how to travel through that area.
We are considering all the key spots of Zadar, Split, Hvar, Korcula, and Dubrovnik, and would like some ideas on how to split our days amongst these spots? We would also like to spend a bit more time at one of these spots to actually relax and take in the atmosphere and am wondering which is the best spot (probably not Dubrovnik as it is our last spot...maybe Hvar or Korcula?).
Also, we are planning on keeping our car for Zadar and then drop it off in Split. Then take the ferry to Hvar, then Korcula, and then take the bus from Korcula to Dubrovnik. Is this a practical plan or are we overlooking something?
For general insight, we are early 40's, active, and not big partiers.
Thanks for any insight or input in advance.
Currently we are considering taking our car to Zadar and then to Split and drop it off there.
