Guide vs. Doing it yourself with only 2 days in Mendoza

We will be arriving by plane on a Sunday at 2:30 in the afternoon and will be leaving by plane at 1:30 on Tuesday. With only 1 full day and 2 half days, any suggestions on an itinerary for us? We are very active, love to wine taste, eat, and hike. Sounds like a guide may be necessary to fill in as much as possible?

Thanks

Depending on where you are staying then the folks at your accomodations can arrange for either group or solo visits to the wineries for tasting, lunches, etc.

Also, there are tours which do the high Andes visits which can be fun in the Aconcagua National Park.

With just two days then you might want to consider one of the wine lodges which I mentioned in one of your other posts. They will take care of all the arrangements since you have limited time. For example: My friends stayed at Finca Adalgisa and they arranged all the wine tours, daylong horseback ride for flyfishing(husband loves flyfishing). Guide did BBQ out on the pampas next to the stream.

If there is a particular winery and restaurant which you definitely want to visit then they will arrange it for you. Since the wineries require reservations then this might be a good option for you.
