jeandb without knowing your budget its hard to be specific. The posts on Sailing Club and Bamboo put you in the $70+ plus range. They also refer to the resort area known as Ham Tien. If Ham Tien is where you want to be then have a look at Hiep Hoa beachfront bungalow for $35, Coco Beach Bungalows for $120, Vietnam Austria House for $50,or Thuy Thuy on the other side of the road (not Beachfront) for $55 but very nice. The area around street numbers on the beach from 75 to 50 are the widest parts of the sand at the moment at high tide. Low tide the whole strip has a wide beach.Sand movement is seasonal and subject to windwave currents that occur mainly with the NE prevailing wind in Ham Tien, the opposite occurs with the SW prevailing winds. The beach conditions will change according to these prevailing winds NE from November to March SW from April to October approximately, although there have been great variations in recent times as there has been all over the globe.

Hope this bit helps.

Full Moon Beach Hotel mid March 2011 was pleasant and comfortable, however there were many families with numerous small children. Great for them, NOT so great if you are looking for tranquility. Prices $70 sea-view room including very good breakfast, reasonable price for quality and location ($60 for garden/pool view). Conveniently close to Hanh Cafe Open Bus drop off/pick up point to/from HCMC. Also good for the adventurous as it is next door to Jibe's for windsurfers and kitesurfing. Their website which includes hotel and windsurfing links: www.windsurf-vietnam.com

This hotel is not listed in the reviews, don't confuse it with Full Moon Village.

I suggest you try Mui Ne Hills Guesthouse. The N°1 Bed & Breakfast in Mui Ne on Tripadvisor. Very personalised service, excellent location on top of the sanddunes with 180° seaview from the rooms and swimming pool. At only 5 minutes walk down to the best part of the beach in Mui Ne. Only 10 rooms in 2 separate villa's. Simply no better place to completely relax yourself in Mui Ne.
