Normady area

Have plans and reservations for 2 nights in the Normandy area June 11-13. After leaving the beaches and moving on to Mont Ste. Michel...again have reservations (3rd night). But for the last day and night before leaving from Orly to Naples on the 15th we want to see Chartres and Fontainebleau. Can someone suggest at place to stay near Orly (flight at 10 AM..Sat. 15 th) on our last night? Thank you for your help!

Wooo

Chartres and Fontainbleu are a fair distance apart to do both of them justice in only 1 day,

Not to mentoin that you have a flight the next day...

Visit Chartres, relax and enjoy.

Then 'meander' to an Hotel near Orly, that's my advice!!

Appreciate your input....thanks for the advice! Chartres is higher on my list than Fountainbleau so it's good that you picked that of the two too.

Distance 70 miles.....1hour/18 min. Roughly ...not too bad.

You're not going to make the drive between Fontainebleau and Chartres in 1h18 unless you find a way to fly. It will be closer to 2 hours every single time, no matter what time of day.

It would, logistically, be easier to go to Chartres -- you could drive the 4-1/2 hours from MSM to Chartres, then continue to Orly -- Fontainebleau lies on the other side of Orly from Chartres.

For what it's worth, there is a Hilton right there at Orly, which would help you in the morning. Not sure if you want to stay there at the airport that night or not, but it is always an option.
