Travel Size sunscreen spray

Travel Size sunscreen spray

Planning a trip to Dominican for four nights. We're trying to not buy sunscreen at the resort as it's about $30bucks for one typical size can.

Mainly we don't want to check a bag just for sunscreen when we can both manage with just carry-ons

Does anyone know how long a 3oz spray will last one person with typical use?anyone packed just travel size sunscreen spray before and have any opinions on the matter

Specifically spray not lotion as my husband will not use lotion ( even tho the lotion would 100% last longer)

welcome,

there are other places than resorts to buy things. what about in town?

have you looked into any sunscreen wipes? you can google for your favorite brand/type and see if they make it in a wipe. If not, look for the 2nd best,..ect.

good luck.

Is there a chemist after security at the airport?

That's where I go to buy my mini deodorant spray can.

Shame about hubby. I was going to suggest squirting some sunlotion into a travel bottle which is what I do for a day out here. Lasts ages. Must it be a propellent spray? Could you not use a travel spray bottle and fill from a bigger spray bottle?

Short of buying a bottle and testing it. How large is a travel bottle? 50ml? What is your normal bottle size? 200ml? That means the travel bottle will last you a 1/4 of what you normally get. Reality is it'll be less than that. Smaller bottles will end up with more waste.

Nobody can give you a definitive number. Everything from weather, swimming, sweating and even person size would make a difference.

Easiest way is to test it yourself. Stick a postit on the bottle and put a tick for each use. Then at the end you know how many uses per mls. I do this for loads of my travel products and keep them all listed in a spreadsheet.

Is the reason you want a small bottle because of restrictions on liquids you can take on board, if so why not get a larger size once you are air-side of security in Duty Free, you can always leave it behind if you don't use it all.

What about a solid stick of sunscreen that you just roll on (like solid deodorant)? Mine is just 1.5 ounces and is lasting quite well. I like the solid because I'm not inhaling tiny droplets, and my palms aren't getting all greasy and messy and transferring sunscreen to other surfaces.
