Just a warning to other disabled veterans with service dogs. We recently rented a SUV from Dollar/Thrifty in Denver, Colorado for a week long vacation in the mountains.
Two weeks after returning the vehicle, they charged $130 on our credit card. When we called to ask "Why?", we were told they found dog hair in the vehicle and, therefore, had to do an extensive cleaning.
Since the counter representative talked us into upgrading to an SUV because we had a service dog, it isn't as if the company didn't know we had a service dog in the car. We complained about being penalized for having a service dog but they refused to remove the charge.
I guess that's Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group's way of saying "Thank you for your service."
