Has anyone use http://www.vacationgetawaydeals.ca for any traveling? They say that they are getting people in to empty hotel rooms so that the hotels might make some money while you are there. I couldn't find any information about this company at all. Has anyone used them or one like them?

Getting people into empty hotel rooms are what all booking companies and also hotels are doing.

Checked a few random dates for random places and got nothing in the way of very special prices - the same prices where to be found all the other booking-sites I checked.

Searching for hotels on the site you mentioned I got redirected to travelnow.com, who seem to be a Expedia Affiliate Network, so they then get all their results from Expedia.

So you go to one site who sends you to another who in turn gets all their results from a third.

By all means use them to check hotel prices, and then directly to the hotel and check prices with them as well. If you call them often you can get a bit lower if you quote the online price from expedia/travelnow/booking.com/hotels.com/etc etc as they then don't have to pay a fee to the booking site.

According to my web research that web site has only been up and running for about 6 months. Hard to believe that such a site has any special influence on finding good hotel rates- I would look at an established site- preferably the hotel's own website , if I wanted confidence I would find a reservation on arrival.
