Thai Airways Baggage policy

Hi All,

I am looking into booking an air ticket with TG.

In the booking conditions, it says

Click here for info on hand-carry baggage allowance at Changi Airport.

Please note your 1 piece hand baggage must not exceed 115 cm in total

of (length) x (width) x (height) (Example: 55 by 40 by 20 cm) and weighs not more than 7 kg.

Check in baggage must be less than 20 kg and you are only allowed to bring one piece.

Your 1 piece check in baggage must not exceed 158 cm in total of (length) x (width) x (height)

My question is on this particular clause.

"Check in baggage must be less than 20 kg and you are only allowed to bring one piece."

I understand that since TG has put in this clause, they have every right to enforce it. However may I ask based on experience, does TG enforce this strictly?

I may have one more check-in bag but I really do not want to be charge for excess baggage.

Thanks.

You don't state where you are flying, but you can check more; you'll just have to pay for it.

Thanks for all the replies.

I called Thai Airways Singapore for clarification.

Seems like the rules printed on the tour agency website and Thai Airways are different.

I am allowed to check in multiple bags as long as it is below 20kg.

Thanks.

Er...is that multiple bags but a TOTAL of 20 kg??

You might want to check again cos if you turn up with more than one bag, each weighing just under 20kg, you might get charged....Just a hunch...I might be wrong but that seems like unlimited baggage and the plane would never get off the ground ..:-)

Thanks.

What I mean is I can check in multiple bags as long as the total weight of all bags is <20kg.

I do really wish they will give unlimited baggage because the happiest person will be my wife! :)
