Last September our flight from Fuerteventura to Birmingham was delayed by 17.5 hours. Monarch have claimed it was due to 'extraordinary circumstances'. The CAA said our claim was to be sent to AESA in Madrid as the airport of departure was not in the UK. They have completed their investigations and have agreed that we are eligible for compensation. I have sent their letter to Monarch who are still saying no compensation is to be paid. Where can I go from here? Is there any point pursuing this claim?
