Lastminute.com different outbound and inbound airlines

I'm tempted to not book direct for the first time ever (I know, breaking my rules etc.) I have found a great offer (unrivalled) where I can fly to JNB with one airline and return with a different one a few weeks later for less. Layovers convenient etc!

Have others done similar things!

Which airlines are involved - are both flights on a single ticket or is it 2 one ways put together.

Also bear in mind the "great offer" could be nothing more than an advert.

The two airlines are KLM and Air France - I cannot get within £60 on either of their websites.

The Lastminute.com offer came up when I did a TA flight search - looking at LM's website the offer also come up for our dates.. What to do..

It's a codeshare they are the same company having merged.

I would go for it.

I have done AF outbound and KLM inbound to CDG and AMS respectively .

No problem

KLM and Air France are partners so flying with them each way wont be a problem - it's quite common to fly KLM and/or AF on the same itinerary.

I would however look out for any fees with lastminute.com as that saving of £60 could quickly disappear - bear in mind that booking with a 3rd party also comes with downsides in the event of schedule changes, delays etc.

Indeed check the luggage cost. If you join flying blue you don't pay if you go direct through them.. Last minute may force you to have to pay for luggage
