Connecting flight time?

We are catching a connecting flight and wanted to know if we have enough time?

International flight from US to Sao Paulo arrives at 2:25PM our connecting flight to Recife leaves at 4:50PM. Is this enough time?

Should be fine, assuming the first flight's not delayed.

In some progressive airports, sometimes only a 90 min connection time's needed (depends on the airport). Personally, I'd prefer to have layovers of at least 3 hours in between flights. I hate the feeling when making a mad dash from: aircraft ---> the airport ---> 2nd check in counter(or transfer counter)--->boarding gate then sliding into your seat on flight #2 at the very last minute...

Are the "connecting" flights booked on one ticket or separate tickets? If they're separate tickets that's not a true connection.

The legal minimum connecting time is 90 mins. from an international to a domestic in this airport, so this is fine as long as the first flight isn't delayed. But if is, you aren't protected because of the separate tickets. I would just have a look at other options just in case something happens so you are aware of what is an option out of Sao Paulo.

On March 31, 2014, TAM will join Oneworld alliance which AA is also a member. Oneworld alliance should allow separate itineraries being checked through from your departing point and also protect your itinerary, meaning you will be put onto the next available TAM flight should your AA flight be delayed.
