BA club world vs Virgin upper class

I am flying to Las Vegas and then back from Cancun with my wife to be. Were getting married in vegas and honey mooning is Cancun.

2 airlines off direct flights from Gatwick. BA and Virgin. I have flown both is PE and they both have pros and cons.

Were going to fly business class on these flights. Currently BA is around £300 cheapee each.

I would be interested in peoples thoughts on which I should go for?

For the price difference alone, I would go with BA's Club World which is very good. Save your money for Cancun use.

It's personal choice but I prefer BA's style.

In order to level the playing field BA do charge for seat assignments, whereas VS don't. By the time you've covered that on BA the difference is only £60.

There is a current review on the new virgin upper class seats which complains that it's quite difficult for people travelling together to talk to each other as you are isolated in little pods. I would say go for BA and pay the extra to be sure you are next to each other. I would go for a window and aisle pair.

There will be plenty of opportunities not talk to each other as you go through married life so I agree, make the most of it and go for BA.

I usually fly BA - there is little to choose between them. I do however like sitting/standing at the bar on Virgin - if you fancy a bit of socialising.

The bar on Virgin is nice but when you're sitting down, the seats are very isolated so you don't feel like you are flying together - which is nice on business but not so much for your honeymoon.

I'd go with BA and pick a cosy rear facing central pair, yes, you'll have to jump over legs but you'll feel like you're flying together and can chat easily, you can't do this with Virgin or an aisle/window pair on BA.

As long as you keep the privacy panel down in BA, you can easily talk to one another in the two aisle seats as you are effectively facing each other, albeit diagonally. I would pick those for privacy for the two of you. Yes, you can't cuddle up, but do you really need to,,,or want to on a plane,,,especially when in the middle of four with two strangers either side....Eugh,..

I would pick the aisle/window pair personally. Those middle seats always feel weird with people next to you and people across from you.

Both Vegas and Cancun are being serviced by the 747. This is 14 seats at the front of the aircraft (nose)

The "new" Upper Class / Business class that has 33 seats is currently operating Caribbean and Orlando from Gatwick

Hope that helps

Both routes are on a 744 with VS. On BA, both are on a 777.

Note that the BA LGW-LAS service does not operate every day, but they do have another service from LHR.

Neither airline has a daily service to CUN.
