Flight name issue

I booked my flight from London to JFK with Virgin via Travelocity. With Travelocity I had updated my First, second and surname as that's what's in my passport. So for example John Alex Smith. However on virgins website our booking names are listed with First and Second joined together so for example Johnalex Smith. I know airlines are a bit fussy when it comes to passenger names, especially with spelling and reverse listing but do ye think the above issue will actually be an issue? I have emailed travelocity to try and rectify but I want to know I they say it's fine, will it be?

That won't be an issue, it simply stems back to the days of paper tickets when there were only a certain space for the name. Once it became computerised, there were only a certain number of spaces in the data field for names.

That's how airlines' reservation systems handle tickets. If it's something like SMITH/JOHNALEX you'll be fine and have nothing to worry about.

I've read Virgin seems to do this a lot. I wouldn't worry.

For example here's one from two years ago tripadvisor.co.uk/ShowTopic-g1-i10702-k52567… with many examples and no issues spread over a year or more.
