Transit visa req for China for Jamaican citizen?

Wondering if anyone can help...

I'm travelling to New Zealand with my family, 3 of us are British Passport holders and one a Jamaican passport holder with British indefinite leave to remain. I am trying to clarfy whether the JA holder needs a transit visa..I'm presuming not from the below but would be really grateful if anyone could confirm;

"Foreign travellers holding connecting tickets to pass through China are exempt from visa requirements provided they stay in the transit area of the airport for a no longer than 24 hours"

I am presumimg Foreign is 'every nationality'

Thank you

Do double check the airport layout before you decide on whether or not you need the transit visa. Not all airports have connections that are purely inside the security area.

As for your original question, I would suggest you check with the Chinese Embassy/Consulate. They'll be able to tell you for sure.

What are your flight details (airlines, transit airport and flight times)?

It appears that the info on #2 (I assume Timatic) says you'll be okay, even for leaving the transit area.

There's another thread here regarding transit at Beijing that also indicates you'll be fine for exiting the transit area for up to 24 hours.
