NYC area to Bermuda...advice needed regarding airfare

I am going to Bermuda this summer and the flight prices I am getting are a bit excessive.

I am finding $540.00 round trip with Jet Blue (JFK) and $480.00 round trip with United (Newark). These are non stops. I am traveling the first week of July which is the same week as the fourth of July, but do these prices seem a bit much?

My sister went the same week last summer and spent about $325.00 with Jetblue. The flight was $360.00 at the beginning of the week, than Jetblue raised theirs to $541 and the other airlines adjusted theirs accordingly. Is this the best I am going to get or should I wait?

Thanks for any tips.

July 4th holiday....peak time, high fares.

What people have paid in the past bears no relevance to what you'll pay in the future.

Has anyone had any problems with priceline? I just got a fare alert for $291.00 during my travel dates. I went to the website and it is quoting me indeed $291.00 indeed.

It says there are a few tickets left at this price...I'm just confused as to why it would be so much lower than the other sites.

It is the Delta flight from Laguardia
