British Airways or Singapore Airlines to Oz - which one???

Hi

I would really value opinions from travellers who have flown on BA or Singapore Airlines from the UK to Australia, which airline did you prefer and why? We will be stopping over in Singapore for a few nights on the way there and am looking at booking economy on one of these airlines (on the Boeing not on the Airbus) I can't decide between the two airlines as there is not much difference at all in price, is there any difference in quality, service, safety, flight and if flying with kids what airline do you prefer?

Thanks so much.

No personal experience but Skytrax rates BA as 4 star and Singapore as 5 star - you might be able to get some info here.

Take the A380. The biggest complaint appears to be that its so quiet you can hear people 5 rows away having a conversation... :)

SQ for me. Their Singapore Stopover deals are an excellent bonus - details on their website.

My brother flew that route and he really enjoyed Singapore Airlines AB380.

There is only one daily BA flight LHR-SIN-SYD on the 747 or 777. But SQ gives you a choice 4 daily flights from LHR with 3 flights on the A380 and 1 on the 777. I too do prefer the A380 over the B777.

If you travel with SQ, do take advantage of the SQ Stopover Holiday programme.
