We were traveling to Sabah, Sandaka. UK FCO, AUSTRLIAN DFAT USA GOVERMENT AND MALAYSIAN GOVERMENT ETC... HAVE ADVISED AGAINST TRAVEL TO SABAH. However flightcenter.co.uk Michael Shelton says its not their problem
They seem rubbish and don't seem to care. This is the email I have sent today 17/03/2013:

Sarah and her daughter were planning on joining us on a once in a life time holiday for them in Sabah. I understand that her final leg out and first leg back is on Malaysian. Every other party traveling is using Malaysian as well and they (Malaysian) have without question changed all flights regardless of contractual conditions, to now fly to Kota Kinabulo.
It is the Malaysian Government that have declared this region a 'Special Security Area’ It includes the towns of Sandakan, Lahad Datu town and Tawau and their respective airports. It also includes the towns of Kunak and Semporna and the islands immediately off the coast, including Sipadan.
The FCO advise those currently in the region to consider leaving as soon as practicable and to follow the advice of the local police authorities.
I find it unbelievable that you or behalf of Flight Center are the only company that has not tried to help. Even worse are willing to have two single ladies travel there!
I am presently traveling in Africa on business, so can only get email, but would appreciate your immediate response to the above, in addition to you providing the customer complaints email address for you organisation (as it does not seem possible to find this on the web!) relevant information for IATA. The CAA we know well and will be contacting them direct.
As a travel company, you know doubt understand the importance of referral, as a regular Business Traveler I am an avid user of Trip Advisor and have posted this under my name.
