Just back from Vietnam and good to see that many have their tickets now. Have a great trip everyone.
I have just been reading a friends blog re their return to France a few weeks ago,. They live on their barge in France, they've just been home to Perth for a couple of months and taking two grand daughters back with them for a holiday, friends do not have a return ticket as they don't know when they will be coming back. Their experience at Perth airport makes interesting reading, for those of us travelling to Europe (when our tickets come through). My friends not involved with AAX but it shows what is being asked at the airport,
"At the check-in counter, we had a bit of a scare when the lady staff asked us for a copy of our return itinerary, which of course, with the exception of Rachel and Shannon, we did not have. After some lengthy conversation, she deemed that it would be OK to fly to Europe as long as we could show that we had sufficient funds to pay for a flight out of Europe and she issued us with boarding passes for all three flights from Perth to Paris via Singapore and London.
After retrieving our baggage at CDG we approached the Immigration counter and we were a little apprehensive considering the issues raised at the Perth check-in desk, however the French Immigration officer simply looked at the passport photographs to verify that we looked the same, stamped the passport and we entered France rather quickly. There did not seem to be any Customs checking as we simply waltzed past them without a glance at our baggage."
When we got to the airport in Perth en route to Vietnam, we were asked to show our return ticket. I don't remember this being asked before on previous trips.
