If under 100ml must go in a plastic bag no greater than 8" x 8". One bag per passenger.

Anything more than that and it must go in checked luggage.

www.heathrowairport.com has this info.

Better to be safe than sorry - check on the airline's website for the latest information. Generally, if it's in your hand luggage it can't be more than 100 ml per item and it has to be in a clear resealable plastic bag (if you don't have one, they'll hand you one as you go through the security check)

________

The airlines have no say in what can and can't go through the security checkpoint. When the liquids restrictions came in during August 2006 there were a number of airlines websites that had wrong information. There haven't been any changes with regard to liquids for sometime now but always best to go to the horses mouth for the info.

The airport of BAA who operate most of Britain's large airports is the website to go to.

Their excuse for not giving one would be that the conditions have been in use for ages, you should have planned for it :P
