Air travel from Bremen, Germany to Pisa, Italy

Hi,

Two of us need to get from Bremen, Germany to Pisa, Italy on April 12. Obviously there are no direct flights and there don't seem to be many options. The two best options seem to be flying Ryan Air from Bremen to Milan then taking a 5 hour train ride to Pisa or taking the train from Bremen to Amsterdam, flying from Amsterdam to Florence on Meridiana (arriving at 9:00 pm)and then taking the an hour and a half train to Lucca (our final destination).

After reading the forum reviews of Ryan Air I am a little nervous to use them. Does any one have any better ideas how to do this?

Thanks,

Karen

Hi Karen,

There are other options: take a train to Brussels (Bremen-Köln-Brussels), which takes 80 euro return, then take Ryanair to Pisa...

Don't be scared about Ryanair. It's true that they don't offer service AT ALL and if they cancel your flight, your most probably won't get a refund, but they're cheap and reliable in the sense that their air crafts are safe. Do take into account all the extras you have to pay (e.g. luggage, visa card surcharge etc) and the time/money you have to spend because they don't fly to the main airports. E.g. for Brussels, take into account that "Brussels South" actually is a city called Charleroi, which is 45min by train from Brussels followed by a 15min bus ride.

Hi there.

Make your way to Luebeck airport

Ryanair does Luebeck - Pisa, 12 april, 1445-1630 VR3596

Cost EUR 40 per person incl taxes at the moment.

To get to luebeck from Bremen Hbf takes 3hrs 15mins, EUR 30 and 1 or 2 transfers, www.bahn.de

Be aware about luggage though, seeing you are from USA, you might be used to 2 pieces of 23 kgs. That will not be possible on Ryanair, at least not cheap.....

Usually if you fly intercontinental, you might be able to fit in intraEuropean flights in your intercontinental ticket, just for a small surcharge and taxes....you might look into that too.
