air asia plans a marketing blitz in aus
What would the taxes be do you suppose? Under $1000 pp easily...probably around $600?
more like $400 i would think but u can check by using an airline eg.qantas, booking engine and see what the additional charges are on a melbourne to london flight.
Most airlines are quoting around $550.00 on a return fare. Interestingly Q is $600+.
This fare sounds interesting except this line from the article worries me a fair bit,
If you have got 100 more seats on a plane and that plane travels 40 per cent more frequently, that creates a much bigger revenue base on the same aircraft cost," Osman-Rani said.
A hundred more seats on the same plane as competitors?
worrying, confusing, mmmmm
Maybe they'll have the extra seats stuck to the wings?! :-O
...how they gonna fit them all in otherwise?
I wouldn't like to get the toilet seat, that's for sure. ;-)
Just caught the news tonight & I think they said the "normal" fare would be $300.00 + taxes return to KL, then the add on fares from there to LHR. Still cheaper than others but not for me with 100 extra of my closest friends to share the plane with.
The $10.00US was a maybe, whatif, one-off promotional fare that may or may not happen.
Not likely to use it but cannot wait to here about lien and lilyana's experiences. With them extra seats how will they get to keep the doors and windows closed?
Meanwhile I will stick to YorkshireAir and Captain Boycott.
About a year ago, AirAsia announced a similar "deal" for flights from UK (London and Manchester) to SE Asia. It was to be new airline that would cring Low Cost Carrying to the long-haul market. Still waiting..........................
even Captain Boycott wasn't so slow in making his "runs".
