I am flying BA los angeles to heathrow on sun 4th nov.the plane we are travelling on has an upper deck as well as a lower deck. which would be the best deck to reserve seats for a quiet flight.

It must be an A380, and IMHO the top deck is the place to be, if only to tell your grandchildren that you flew upstairs in an aircraft.

In 20 years time we will all be flying in dreary twin aisle two pod aircraft, so make the most of the A380 while you can.

The A380 is a quiet plane, but the upper deck is especially quiet. Upper would be my choice.

Upstairs on an A380 is the place to be, nice and quiet and you soon forget that there are hundreds of people downstairs. Get the seats booked even if you have to pay extra.

Good luck

If you get a window seat on the upper deck there is a storage bin between you and the window. You can fit a small carry-on bad in there so it doesn’t have to go under the seat in front of you.
