Two year olds can not be lap children so yes you will need to pay for a seat.

every child over 2 or under 2 has to have a ticket. but the seat is the issue. under 2 they can be on your lap OR you can purchase a seat and use a car / flight seat. over 2 they MUST purchase a seat.

Everybody needs a ticket.

For children below the age of two, many airlines will charge you in the area of around 10%, if you have your baby on the lap (so called lap baby). This is cheap but can not only be uncomfortable but also is not really safe.

As from 2 years old, children need a seat and will pay around 70-75% of a full ticket.

As from around 12 years old, children will need a full ticket.

Ok, sorry.

Some airlines give rebate for children, some don't.

Hello all,

I have to buy air tickets for my family, we will travel from UK to India via Saudia Arabia. On the date of departure, my kid will not be exactely 2 year old, but he has birthday after 2 weeks of the flight day. Can someone please let me know if he will be in 0-2 year category or 2-11 year category?

Many Thanks
