AVOID holiday-rentals.co.uk

The last series of posts was closed so this post re-opens the topic.

The problem I had was a poorly cleaned & poorly maintained property in an outrageously noisy narrow stone alley.

The REAL problem I had, though, was that Holiday-Rentals.co.uk would NOT post my factual review of this flat. Yes, vacation rentals is buyer beware... and we all understand that Holiday-Rentals does not inspect premises.

At the same time, reviews from other travelers is the ONLY info the traveler has to pick among rentals, the suppression of negative reviews is a serious offense.

Please post here if you got a horrid rental and if Holiday-Rentals refused to post your review afterwards. In the meantime, this is a booking company to AVOID until they start posting balanced information including negative reviews. You have no way of knowing what you will find upon arrival.

Why does a letting agent have to be independent. Do you expect a newspaper to publish adverse comments about their advertisers, if not then what's the difference. You have at least one avenue to put your reveiew and that's here on TA.

Too often we see complaints by people booking things over the internet and not doing due diligence before confirming a booking.

Unless you are happy dealing with people you don't know at a place you know little to nothing about then stay off the internet any pay for the services of a travel agent where if things go pear shaped you may have some come back.

Many of these on line agencies are nothing more than on line bulletin boards paid for by the advertiser and should be treated as such
