timeshare - Arroyo Roble Resort

Hi

Has anyone stayed at this report please? I have been to Sedona many times and have previously stayed in the 2 bed units at The Ridge on Sedona Golf, and have been very happy there, espeically using the Hilton Pool & spa, but The Ridge has now lost all of it's RCI accreditation (was gold crown) and from reviews gone badly down hill so searching for a better option, but want to avoid cheap and cheerful and the bus loads of tourists type places. We are seeking good std spacious accomodation and most of all quiet - driving is not an issue as we always have a car, but tend to avoid the tourist traps and go for the hiking/art/food/spa - and like to relax. Any reports back on the AR resort are welcome and any other timeshare resorts which are gold crown and in a good location but not interested in Los Abrigados.

thanks

Hi Vicki,

I know this is a late reply but just is case you haven't made up your mind this is a lovely resort. We own one there & love it so much that we have never traded it. We always stay on the one's facing Oak Creek. You can hear the water running over the rocks from your bedroom. WE JUST LOVE IT!!!

Vicki, did you end up booking this place or staying there yet? We are contemplating renting there as well? Or, the Sedona Summit, or, Oak Creek Country Club (all via private owners)? Any opinion on those? Thanks!

My parents own a timeshare unit that they bought on the resale market here. It's a lovely resort with extensive grounds and is also walking distance to shops and resturants in uptown. It's an older, but well maintained timeshare. Most units are two story with the bedrooms up, so this could be an issue with someone who has mobility problems. Units are larger than most timeshares and have 2 1/2 baths, a 1/2 bath on the first floor. There are two tennis courts, an indoor/outdoor pool, an indoor hot tub, an outdoor hot tub, and a club house. // One negative is that the second bedroom is small with just two twin beds -- fine for a family, but not an ideal setup for lets say two couples traveling together. // I'm a member of TUG2.net, and this resort gets excellent reviews on this site also. // We'll be going to Sedona March of 2013 and will be renting a unit here from a timeshare owner. This is one of my husband's favorite places to stay as he likes feeling like he's in the middle of nowhere, but able to walk to resturants and shops. And, of course, Sedona is such a beautiful place for sight seeing / hiking.

I am a RCI member and thinking of trading my week to this resort, however some of the reviews say the units are dirty and old. Any input would be much appreciated!! Thanks John

Over the last 25 years, we've stayed in most of Sedona's timeshare resorts. Only did not stay at the Hyatt, Wyndham, and Sedona Pines because of buying two weeks at Arroyo Roble. No need to visit those, as this is our every year spot in Sedona.

We decided on Arroyo Roble because of the quality of staff, construction and location. Staff tend to be long term and enjoy their work. Units are solidly built with concrete filled blocks having little noise transfer. It's on the creek, how can it get better. Yearly maintenance fees are stable and you get an easy to understand year-end budget report.

Housekeeping is always good. Never found even a gum wrapper under a chair upon arrival. The furniture does have a western rustic look and comtemporary, but is never dirty or overly worn. The furniture quality is excellent, so the resort doesn't need to replace every couple of years. This might cause some to mistakenly call it dirty.

The resort is down a hill from Uptown, otherwise it wouldn't be creekside. Walking up is good if you don't mind being a little winded at the top. Otherwise, everyone would most likely have a car to go up the hill. There is a parking lot just before the top of the hill to enjoy Uptown if you choose. Owners have the option to reserve the creekside units. Exchanging in doesn't provide this option, but all the units are in excellent proximity to the amenities.

Been to timeshares in Hawaii, Italy, Moorea. All in all, our favorite resort.
