After a walk down Merthyr Mawr it was a perfect fine. Good food and vegan/vegetarian options! They were super dog friendly. Dog allowed inside and out. They gave them a bowl of water and they have dog treats for free! (staff even came over with dog treats when they noticed we hadn't helped ourselves) Warm welcome, would recommend!

I always found The Watermill something of a themed pub, lacking in atmosohere serving mediocre food. How it has changed. I have eaten there on three iccasiins recently & been very pleasantly surprised. Staff were welcoming, friendly & efficient. Very extensive menu, service prompt & served with a smile. I booked a table for five for lunch prior to the... More

Popped in here while passing this afternoon. Few people in there. Was only stopping for a drink, stood at the bar for a good 5-10 minutes, didn't even see a member of staff! Walked out. Poor service. Wouldn't waste my time going in there again.

Visited the pub a few times, Great bar food, lovely pint, very relaxed and dog friendly, well worth a visit after the beach.

I have been here twice for lunch now, both times on a weekday and I was impressed both times. It was fairly quiet but the staff showed us to a table and took our drinks order straight away. All of the staff we encountered were very friendly. It wasn't the quickest service but we weren't in a rush and the... More

Visited here once in the past, over a year ago. Asked for a table and waiter pointed to the room at the side of the bar and he said 'Sit anywhere you like in there.' Well three of the tables in that room had reserved signs but we found a table in a corner. There was also a person with... More

From start to finish, Tony and his team have been brilliant. We were looking for a venue to hold an informal 70th birthday celebration for 60-65 people. The Watermill was ideal. There is an area to one side that, although connected to the pub, had the feeling of being completely private. It was an excellent size for our number of... More

Very pretty pub on the River Ogwr. 5 mins from the seashore. Great in Winter & Summer. Open fire in Winter, beautiful garden to eat out in Summer. Small play park for children. Staff first class. Well worth a visit.

Went here yesterday after we saw a sign to say "dogs welcome" ! We were greeted by a lovely waitress who gave our dog some treats! We ordered the sharing Sunday platter and it was great! Plenty of meat, veg & gravy! Will definitely return again when in the area! Bonus for us was the dog could come with us!

Thank Mandy J

Our focus is on providing a warm welcome, friendly attentive service and great food. Our flexible menu allows us to ensure items are fresh and seasonable. Real log fires for the cold winter months and a large beer garden for warmer weather provide plenty of reasons to visit all year round.
