A special place to go in the middle of Jose Ignacio, taking time to enjoy the array of gourmet options it offers. My second year going and proving it gets better every day, whether it is a barista coffee preparation (yes, with the "drawings" on the surface) or the natural yeast dough bread in sandwiches or the various dessert options to add to a great evening. The service is impeccable and know how to give you advice to choose among their menu

The place is very well decorated, it is very pretty, everything is very well cared for, even the aroma of embers. The dishes are expensive but abundant and exquisite in flavor. Knowing how to ask is worth knowing, I recommend it.

We met for dinner - it took while before we could order - the food was ok - the location right on the rio de la plate was kind of cool

Average food, cheating waitors

Celebrated a birthday lunch with the whole family. Food was sadly not particularly tasty and prepared long before eating. When paying the waiter did not count the cash at the table, but at the till. He came back staying we were short, which we weren't. However as we could not prove this, we paid the difference. At our visit to Buenos Aires, we've eaten much better, and I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

The sight is not enough

They put you on a waiting list and when you enter after half an hour, everything is almost empty. A total lack of respect. Improvised and mediocre attention. Cold coffee, regular food. Only the location saves them, otherwise NOTHING. The pastry is scarce and does not look fresh. It took them so long to bring the bill and charge you, so much so that we had to go to the cashier to pay. It lacks atmosphere, better customer treatment and more staff training. It is not to repeat.

Olive trees headquarters, poor service

They do not have non-tactile options, being the law. They have "gluten free" mixed with the rest of the products causing cross contamination. They served me a cappuccino without cocoa and without cinnamon, that is, in short, a regular coffee. They brought extra products to the table that we had not ordered, in batches. They take a long time to respond. I don't recommend this place.

Something always goes wrong... :(

No sooner said than done. The place is beautiful. But I already had bad experiences because of the food and the price. But with my wife, knowing that the food is bad, we went to dinner somewhere else and when we left we decided to give it another chance and have coffee in front of the river. We also ordered the dessert which is a chocolate volcano, although it has another name on the menu. Being 3:36 am, we both felt very bad about that dessert. Heavy. Stomach ache. A horror. It was definitely not dinner at the other place because we ordered different dishes. What's up with this beautiful restaurant? It has horrible reviews and they don't get better. It's the fourth time I've gone and something always goes wrong. Get your act together, improve the quality of the food, please.

The place is very nice. I am celiac and have not There was no option without Tacc. They brought the order wrong. And they took a long time. Door employees with a bad face, the rest predisposed. I hope those issues that have to do with the staff and who takes the order improve.

Our favorite spot for breakfast every morning. Local chic yet warm and friendly. Food was divine. Something for everyone even this vegan chica. Views from some tables, nice courtyard, good breeze on deck yet cozy in courtyard, thoughtful service & kind waiters, excellent food, open layout, trendy but not haughty. Great Brazilian cheese bread (not vegan but i had a bite of my hubbys. very good) Come for any meal of the day and you won't be disappointed. Felt like the favorite spot of the "locals" ie the beautiful Uruguayans & Argentinians who have seasonal homes/vacation here. And yet felt welcomed and so enjoyed the people watching, the bird songs, the whole experience Everything one might expect from an upscale yet beachy family second home clientele

Interesting place for a nice meal

The buffet nature of the restaurant is quite unique. We had a large plate (3 sides) which was far too much food for one person. Had a local fish which was flash grilled in front of us. Very nice!

could and should improve

We always go for lunch.They have a good service and have quite a lot of choices to pick up, as you have a lot to choose in two versions, big and small plate. But this time, the meat we choose, two of us was not recently cooked , and so it was dry not tasty. They did not have salads with greens, a must in the summer.They can improve, they know how.

Great Lunch buffet in a laid back setting near the beach

We recently had lunch at El Mastrador and really enjoyed it. It is a buffet lunch where you can choose a small plate or a large plate. The small plate entitles you to one protein and two sides and the large plate one protein and three sides. They deliver the drinks to your table but it is buffet. They have private tables outside and long tables and benches inside. We sat at a long table and no one was next to us. The food was quite good we both had the wood grilled pork as our protein and it was excellent. They had several choices for sides and they all looked delicious. If you are looking for a nice casual lunch right near the beach we recommend El Mostrador.

Excellent option for tea time if you are in Jose Ignacio area

Came curious to see another creation of chef Trocca in the evening, ready to had goodies at tea time. The ambiance is very comfortable with options outside as well. Anything you eat is special i.e. you will have the best carrot cake you had in your life and/or drink the very best coffee prepared by a barista. It was worth the excursion in a very nice setting, with very knowledgeable and friendly service.
