The central location in Subiaco makes this a neighbourhood gem. Simple French bistro style food. Lovely ambience and good service.

Evening stated well with a Pigs Trotter dish, albeit it was not hot through out. It went down hill with a Fillet Steak that was more like a Rump Steak and a quite dry Lamb Shank with little sauce. Creme Brûlée was quite nice although not great. Service was quite good but again a little off here and there. Don't... More

Being a Loose Box fan of years gone by I was very disappointed with the quality, taste & value for money experience.

Super restaurant, differs wildly from the usual run of the mill. Ex-"Loose Box", a now defunct and super posh restaurant up in the Perth hills to settle in Subiaco. An almost exclusively French menu, mostly cooked "off-site" but very good. We hear however, it's soon to close...

Alain Febregues has continued his tradition of culinary excellence with this quaint dining establishment in Subiaco. There are few dining places in Perth I would recommend with such vigour, however, this place rates among the best that I have been to in terms of value and service. Our waiter very attentive and friendly adding to the wonderful ambience. It was... More

I was taken here for a birthday lunch. What can I say but amazing. Charcuterie's plate was simple. Exactly what we wanted to start the meal. Steak tartare was fresh and had all the right combinations to make this meal exceptional. Pork Belly (plate du jour) had the right amount of crackling that everyone fought over! Staff were friendly and... More

A mini brasserie rather than a bistro (in terms of atmosphere) I'd think but that is all I could fault them on. The food is superb, the service discreet but prompt and the entire meal constitutes a French experience in a fairly unlikely location. I live about ten Ks away so it is never going to be my local but... More

Midweek evening meal, booked for two at 6.30pm. Outstanding welcome and service throughout the meal. We chose the three-course option which comes with complimentary tasters, cheese, sorbet and coffee. Superb meal: our entrees were seafood crepe and charcuterie board, both brilliant. Mains were steak, and lamb shanks on beans - no need to order sides. Desserts chocolate "opera" and cherry... More

Bistro des Artistes is an authentic French restaurant which always presents a range of interesting dishes. They provide excellent friendly service where you can have a quick lunch or linger all afternoon if you wish. Good for locals and tourists alike (as it is only a short distance from the city centre) although if you weren't looking for it you... More

I had been wanting to try this restaurant for some time and it did not disappoint. The owner is the ex owner and chef of the famous Loose Box in Mundaring. Some old favourites exist here from that menu such as the Slow cooked Beek Cheeks in rEd wine sauce. Cooked lovingly for 12 hours the cheek holds together until... More
