The only reason I have given the restaurant such a poor rating is because after sitting down for 2 hrs and 1.5hrs after ordering we still had not received our food I had to demand from the Owner that if our food was not on...the table within 5mins we would walk. We were told an hour and that we were prepared for. Suddenly our food arrived and it was delicious to say the very least. We shared a whole lot of starters and I can highly recommend the chicken livers, the mussels and the calamari. The Caesar Salad was a disappointment however and expensive for what was received. Unfortunately there are no food photos as we were so hungry that we wolfed down the food as soon as it hit the table. Alex who seems to run the restaurant was a delight and had us in stitches and together with the Chef( who came to the table) apologized profusely for the delay, whilst the Owner seemed unperturbed and sat in the sun drinking with her friends.More

What a lovely surprise!! What is there not to love?? From the atmosphere, the food, wine and then ... the staff!! We've been staying 4 years on the West Coast - our 1st time at 1910 The Old Forge Bar & Restaurant - one word:...Impressive!! Try their chicken livers with mash and peas or my meat-free choice was Penne Arabiata, just the right amount of chilli!! Loved every morsel! Definitely our new favorite.More

What a lovely surprise to find this little restaurant out in Darling. Sitting outdoors with lovely weather we were treated to a fabulous liver starter and delicious lamb and sirloin roast with the most amazing roast potatoes and fresh vegetables. Alex, our waiter a delight,...as were Nina and Derk our hosts. Live music and a fabulous choice of wines. We had a lovely relaxed afternoon. Thank you. We most certainly will be back.More

Had a very pleasant evening here. Sirloin steak and arrabiata pasta were delicious. Good selection of local wines and beers. Very friendly staff and customers (and pets!). Will be coming again when next in Darling!

The owners and staff of The 1910 Old Forge arranged a private birthday lunch (40 people) for us on the grass under the umbrellas. Such a beautiful setting and ambiance with an abundance of amazing food and snacks served to us by the friendly and...very efficient waiters. Glasses stayed full with the excellent Darling wines. All done with such ease and grace. Glynn Lewis kept us singing along and tapping our feet to our favorite songs. A perfect day .... agreed by everyone. We'll be back.More

Attended a Birthday celebration. The service was excellent and the music by Glyn Lewis was also fantastic. He plays all the past hits with his own spin on them. Absolutely lovely how he jazzed up some of the best loved tunes. Will definitely go back...again.More

They prefer a reservation but we arrived on the day and managed to get a table. It depends on how busy they are, I guess.
