Please visit us, we are open Tuesday to Sunday from 7:00 a.m till 4 p.m Also we count with dinner options during the high season with organic and exclusive options. With a crowd of 8 people, we spent an extended weekend in a rented house at walking distance from Stella's where we ate breakfast and lunch everyday of our wonderful stay. Excellent and diverse food at very reasonable prices, gently served by Glenda and Lilly, in a gorgeous garden with a show of birds, squirrels and raccoons. I can only highly recommend it.

We have visited Monteverde three times over the least few years and each time, we make sure to stop in at Stella's as often we can to enjoy superb coffee, outstanding cinnamon rolls and a healthy lunch. The food is excellent. Our favorite lunch items include the spinach and arugula garden fresh salad, the quiche, vegetable soup and the fresh fruit juice.The staff is extremely friendly, helpful and fluent in English. The menu has something for everyone and there were plenty of vegetarian options for us. The atmosphere is lovely. We enjoy watching the birds who come to feast on fresh fruit. We have seen Emerald Toucanettes, Squirrel Cuckoos, stunning Orioles and Dacnis, Euphonias and a wide array of Tanagers and other birds. We have also spotted White-faced Capuchin Monkeys. It is such a treat to enjoy a delicious meal while enjoying the tranquil beauty of Stella's back porch sanctuary. If you like good chocolate cake ... you will not be disappointed!

Excellent food here with lots of seating outside. Good choice of sandwiches and wraps which come as quite a large meal. We shared Cajun chicken wrap with chips on the side which was enough for us to share as we weren’t that hungry. Cakes and biscuits looked good to.

We came here 4 times during our three days in monteverde. The food is great and the menu is varied (sandwiches, breakfast fare, lasagna, quiches, salads), the service is wonderful and quick, the location is convenient to several of the reserves, and they place fruit outside on a stand to attract beautiful birds that you can watch while eating. We both recommend the carrot cake and quiche Lorraine!

The cloud forest of Monteverde is a must experience when traveling to Costa Rica. So is a meal at Stella's Monteverde. We were looking for a great coffee experience; what we got was a great meal (twice), excellent service and some great bird watching. Oh and the perfect espresso. This is a family owned restaurant where the staff goes out of its way to take care of its patrons. From the polite, attentive service from the young wait staff trainee (Joey?) to the thoughtful attention provided by the co-owner sisters, we found Stella's to be the perfect dining spot for our brief stay in Monteverde. The meals were also great, including the wonderful soups, salads and sandwiches. If you're going to the nearby Monteverde Cloud Forest reserve, make it a point to visit Stella's.

Stella’s offers a breakfast buffet and is good food very affordable and wonderful staff. The buffet ends at 9am, and lunch and dinner are served until 8pm. The food is great prices are fairly cheap and they have several drinks to choose from. Coffee, smoothies, and alcoholic beverages are all available. Highly recommend this restaurant if you’re in the area

Very good little restaurant, we have spent three days in Monteverde and most of the time we were eating at Stella's place. Restaurant itself is small but you can seat indoors or outdoors, where you can watch birds in the garden. Food was tasty and staff very friendly, girl's team in the morning well organised, boy's team in the evening little bit less. They forgot about us and our order didn't go to the kitchen straight away. Other guests which came after us had their food very fast, we were sat waiting untill waiter realised of his mistake, in the end we got little discount. For breakfast we did have delicious huevos rancheros and every day different smoothie.
I reccomend this place if you like good food.

Stella's is the only place we discovered in Monteverde area that serves organic vegetables and locally sourced ingredients. And since we are here because of the environmental protection of these cloud forests, we seek environmentally friendly food.
Also, the service is excellent and the ambiance very appealing. The patio is wonderful- love watching the birds as we dine!

Serene backdrop for a leisurely breakfast. We ordered the Huevos Rancheros and Desayuno TĂpico and were beyond satisfied with the quality ingredients. Every meal also comes with coffee, tea, or orange juice. A bit of a drive from the main part of town but highly worth it!

It's necessary to re-review Stella's Bakery and Restaurant after the tragic fire that gutted it last fall. It has arisen from the ashes and is better than ever. We had lunch there a few days ago. My wife had the chicken lasagne and I had a delicious sandwich. I am happy to say that the food is delicious. The restaurant has been updated and is bright and cheerful. Of course the patio is still a stopping point for the area bird watchers. A bandit monkey even showed up to pilfer bananas from the bird feeders. All making for a delightful experience. Please visit Stellas. You'll be glad you did. It'll make you feel good for having been there.

We almost drove by. We had stopped earlier at the coffee shop across the street before we went into the cloud forest. On the way back out after a few miles of hiking we decided to grab lunch there. It was maybe the best choice we made on our entire vacation. The food was amazing. The service was amazing. The view was amazing. You need to sit on the back porch and watch the birds feed (and the squirrels too until someone runs them off.) I can’t think of one negative thing to say about Stella’s. I had lasagna and my wife had the arugula and spinach salad. We finished off with strawberry cheesecake. I couldn’t recommend it more highly.

Not only is Stella's restaurant a great place to enjoy delicious food, but it has delicious baked goods and coffee. The people who work there are genuinely warm, friendly and kind. Additionally, sitting at the beautiful outside patio, you will likely see many birds and, if lucky enough like we were, many monkeys. Great place to relax and take photos too.

Stella's is an amazing cafe/restaurant that serves up great breakfast and pastries. We were staying in Monteverde for 3 days, and normally we try to explore something new each day when we visit a new town or city. However, Stella's was so magical that we ended up going every morning!
What made Stella's so great was the friendly staff, the great food, and the amazing back patio that sits you in the middle of a forest garden that's frequented by a lot of wildlife from the neighboring refuge. One morning the local monkey came to visit. Almost every time we went there was a tepezcuintle coming to take scraps of fruit from the cafe bird feeder.
The food was really good and well priced, and their coffee is amazing! We usually had coffee at our B&B before setting out for the day, but we never felt complete until we stopped off for a nicer brew at Stella's.
When we come back, we will definitely make this our hotspot again.

A great place for coffee, baked goods and food. Set up perfectly for bird viewing. Various bird feeding platforms surround the tables. The staff are friendly, prices are modest. A great place to start your day.

We have been coming to Monteverde for about 10 years. A visit (or 2) to Stella's is always on the agenda. The food and service just keep getting better. Whether for breakfast, lunch. or a coffee and bakery treat the indoor/outdoor atmosphere are makes the visit to this wonderous area complete. Yum, yum and yum!
